Fling to Climb Flinging Other Players

Use the official player-fling perk without turning every checkpoint into a war.

Player Fling Etiquette

The official Fling to Climb! feature list includes perks that let you fling other players. That tool is legal inside the experience. It is also the fastest way to ruin a twenty-minute checkpoint streak — yours or someone else’s. This guide covers when player-fling is smart, when it is grief, and how to recover so a bump is not an automatic reset.

Core movement still lives on advanced fling. Perk types are ranked on the perks tier list. This page is the social rules layer.

What player-fling actually is

A player-fling perk applies launch force to another avatar instead of (or in addition to) your own. Crowded checkpoints, lava ledges, and wind tunnels are where it matters. It does not replace your own grip timing. It does not bypass obstacles. It does not excuse injected “fling all” scripts — those are hacking and trigger the advertised instant permanent ban (Scripts Hub).

When using it is reasonable

SituationVerdict
Someone is camping a single-grip lava face and blocking the only holdDefensive clear, then climb
A friend asks you to yeet them for a joke on a low wallFine
You are mid personal-best on a new beltDo not start a war
You want clips for a laugh at spawnKeep it at spawn
You are farming reactions on the last checkpointExpect revenge all session

If your goal is height, treat other avatars as moving hazards, not toys. The climb checklist already tells you to wait a half-second on crowded pads.

How to survive being flung

  1. Expect bumps on popular servers — this is online multiplayer, not a solo studio.
  2. Keep a recovery fling warm: after any collision, re-grip the nearest safe face instead of rage-jumping into lava.
  3. If you fall, take the last checkpoint and narrate the cause in five words (“player bump, late ice”).
  4. Switch servers when one person is dedicated to deleting runs. Pride is not a badge on badges.
  5. Report actual bugs through official channels on Discord and community — a perk working as designed is not a bug.

Practice recovery on quiet walls first. The mid-air aim habits in advanced fling are the same whether the extra vector came from wind or a teammate.

Grief vs play

The game text jokes that raging is normal. That is not a license to spend a whole session knocking people into lava. Repeated targeted flings at the same climber will get you reported, blocked, or hunted. If you are the hunter, you will also play worse — perk wars destroy the pacing model in reach the top.

Paid passes do not change the ethics. Sprint only helps you reach the next victim faster. Double Length only makes your own saves easier after you start the fight.

Loadout advice

  • Summit night: leave player-fling off unless someone is physically blocking a unique grip.
  • Casual night: use it in low sections, then holster it above your previous best checkpoint.
  • Teaching a friend: fling them only onto safe pads, never into glow.

Pair this with perks and power-ups so you are not burning a grab-extension and a player-fling on the same panicked second.

Account safety

Player-fling is a shipped perk. Auto-fling executors are not. If you get banned after using a loader, the false ban appeal page will not help you. If you never used third-party software and still got hit, use the official communication server only.

Finish your own belt before you decide someone else needs to fly. Height is still a checkpoint problem, not a highlight-reel problem.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Can you fling other players in Fling to Climb?

Yes. The official feature list includes perks that fling other players. That is allowed in-game. Injected mass-fling scripts are not and risk an instant permanent ban.

Is player-fling considered griefing?

Using it once to clear a blocked grip is normal. Camping a checkpoint to delete other runs is griefing and will get you targeted or reported.

How do I recover after someone flings me?

Re-grip the nearest safe face, take the last checkpoint if you fall, and practice recovery launches from the advanced fling guide. Switch servers if one player is dedicated to hunting you.

Should I use player-fling on a summit push?

Usually no. Extra fights wreck pacing. Save the perk for blocked unique grips or casual low-wall sessions.
